What We Believe

Ardsley Bible Chapel is an evangelical protestant church that holds to the core doctrines of the historic Christian faith:

The Bible is God’s infallible, inerrant message to human beings and is a completely sufficient guide in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

There is one almighty and eternal God who created all things and who is revealed in three Persons: Father, Son, and Spirit (John 1:1-14; Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 28:19)

God created our first parents, Adam and Eve, in a condition free from sin, but they rebelled against Him; every human being now enters the world spiritually dead and separated from God (Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 5:12-14)

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to redeem mankind through His death on the cross; in His death he took on Himself the punishment that sinners deserve (2 Corinthians 5:21)

The only way for sinners to be restored to a relationship with God is through faith alone in Christ alone; good works, no matter how great, cannot contribute in the slightest to this restoration (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is now in heaven interceding for His people; He will return to take those who have trusted Him to be with Him forever, but will condemn those who reject Him to everlasting punishment (1 Thessalonians 4:12-18; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:11-15)
